Your WIC Appointment

Did you schedule an in-person WIC appointment? You can find the information you need to prepare for your appointment and frequently asked questions on this page.

If you have any other questions, please call us at 800 500 6411 during our opening times.

Appointment Options

We want you to be able to complete your WIC appointments in a way that works best for you. We have phone, online and in-person appointment options.

Please let our team members know how you would like to complete your appointment.

Whether you come to the office or complete your appointment remotely, is your choice.

2 Simple Steps to Prepare for Your Appointment

1. Watch this 30-minute video

Are you enrolling for the first time, or re-enrolling after two years? Then you must watch this 30-minute orientation video before your appointment. If you don’t watch the video before your appointment, we may need to reschedule you.

You can also watch the video in Spanish, or with subtitles in Arabic or Vietnamese.

2. Gather Your Documents

Please have the following documents with you during your in-person appointment. If you don’t have any one of these documents, please keep your appointment. Your counselor will work with you on a solution.

For example:

  • Paystub
  • LES for military families
  • Medi-Cal number

For example:

  • A bill that has your address in California on it
  • A piece of mail that has your address in California on it
  • ID or drivers license with your address in California on it
  • Medi-Cal card with your address in California on it

For example:

  • ID, drivers license or passport
  • Birth certificate
  • Insurance card

For example:

  • Ultrasound with your name on it
  • Medical records
  • Letter from your healthcare provider

Your counselor can also take these during your in-person appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Families can decide to come to the office for their certification and recertification appointments. It is also still possible to do these appointments over the phone. Other appointments, like nutrition classes, will be over the phone or online. If you’re not sure what type of appointment you have scheduled, call us at 800-500-6411 during our opening times.

No. It is your decision if you want to do your appointment in person or remotely.

Yes. Talk to your counselor about what you need. Then, you can come to your WIC office to pick up the item.

If you decide to have your certification or recertification appointment in person, your counselor will check your child’s height, weight and iron level. You can also get these results from your healthcare provider.

You cannot come to our offices for height, weight and iron testing outside of your appointment time.*

* If you are a participant that has a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, please talk to them about coming to our offices.
